Rider Stories

Real Riders.
Real Results.

"Before this I was spending almost R500 a week just on petrol. Now I'm on the e-bike and my costs are basically just the rental. It's changed everything for me."

Sipho M. — Uber Eats Rider, Parow

"The GPS is actually a big help — platforms can see exactly where I am. I'm getting more orders than I did on the motorbike, and I'm keeping way more of what I earn."

Tasneem A. — Mr D Rider, Bellville

"I was worried about range but the two batteries sort it. I swap mid-shift and I've never run out. Charge them both overnight and I'm ready by morning."

Lethiwe K. — Buzz Delivery Rider, Milnerton

Questions

What Riders
Ask Us

Do I need a motor vehicle licence to ride? +
E-bikes with a motor under 250W on pedal-assist mode are classified as bicycles under South African law and require no licence. Our delivery bikes operate above this threshold and are classified as electric motorcycles — you will need a valid Code B (car) licence or higher. We'll confirm the exact platform requirements for Uber Eats, Mr D, and Buzz Delivery during your application.
What happens if the bike breaks down? +
All maintenance and mechanical repairs are covered by Bikes 2 Share. If your bike needs to come in for service, we'll arrange a replacement as quickly as possible so you don't lose earning time. Report faults through our app or WhatsApp support line.
What if the bike is stolen or damaged? +
All bikes are GPS-tracked in real time. In the event of theft, we file the police report and work with you. Our rental agreement sets out fair responsibility terms — deliberate damage or negligent loss is the rider's liability, but normal wear and mechanical failure is ours. Full details are in your rental agreement.
How and when do I pay? +
Payment is weekly in advance via EFT or card through our payment link. We'll integrate Netcash debit order options shortly so payment is automatic and you never have to remember.
Can I use the bike on any delivery platform? +
Yes — the Fast Cargo II is compatible with Uber Eats, Mr D Food, Bolt Food, and Buzz Delivery setups. Each platform has its own onboarding requirements; we'll advise you on these during sign-up. The bike's GPS data also helps with platform verification.
How far can I go on one charge? +
Each 48V/15AH battery gives approximately 60–80km depending on terrain, load, and riding speed. Because you get two batteries with the Fast Cargo II, your effective daily range is 120–160km — more than enough for a full delivery shift. Charge overnight at home; full charge costs under R10 at standard Eskom residential rates.
What areas do you service? +
We are launching from our Burgundy Estate depot in Milnerton, Cape Town. Our initial service area covers the Northern Suburbs, City Bowl, and Atlantic Seaboard. We plan to expand collection points as the fleet grows.
Can I rent more than one bike if I want to run a team? +
Yes. We actively welcome fleet operators and team leads who want to rent multiple bikes. Contact us directly at info@bikes2share.co.za to discuss bulk rental terms.
